The Famee Furlane of Hamilton was founded by persons who immigrated to the Hamilton area from the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. The founding members desire was to keep the traditions, culture, and language of the “Mother Land” alive.

The Famee Furlane of Hamilton was founded in 1969 and was incorporated in 1972. The six founding members, Giacinto Belluz, Bruno Cudin, Amelio Gris, Romano Mauro, Fiore Riga, and Aurelio Zuccolin provided the financing and work for the first of many structures that followed.
